Spokane Veterans Court Mentor Program

Welcome!

On September 21, 2010 the first meeting was held for all the charter participants in the Spokane Veterans' Court.  For many in the room, this Court represented a chance to save the future (or life) of a fellow veteran. It still does.

Why?  Most of us are no longer in uniform, but the ethic that we leave no one behind is still burned deep into our hearts.

The purpose of the Spokane Veterans Court is to reach out...to begin to repay an enormous debt to men and women who had the courage to button their uniform.

Who?  Some of the Defendants brought into this Court found themselves reacting out of frustration with a civilian world which was apathetic to them and their sacrifice. Others are reacting to traumatic stress.  Whatever the cause, the veterans who find themselves in our Court also find that they've been given a helping hand and a second chance.

This website has been created to provide municipalities and individuals with information about our Court.  In this way, it is our sincere hope that:

1.  This effort will be duplicated in cities throughout the US.  We are available to provide additional information and details.

2.  Veterans and families will come to understand that the Veterans Court is on their side. That we actually do represent a helping hand.
